Loch Lomond to Glen Coe

Up at 8am and quick walk for Woody down to McDonald's for coffee and breakfast (not my preferred choice).  Paths are extremely slippery and anyone out, is taking it real easy.

I deliver the breakfast and then set off with Woodz for a bit of a walk.  Thought I would try to get to side of the Loch and walk around as much as could in a couple of hours.  Proved tricky, but did come across an old derilict house.  Spend time having a good look around.

Getting down to Loch side was impossible as there is loads of up market lodges, golf course and hotel along this part.  We did manage to find a break in the fence to get a bit closer and walk around the lodges and golf course up to the shores shopping terrace (as they call it).  Great views of the snow clad mountains and also a rainbow too! Masses of car parking, I can imagine in the Summer, you wouldn't be able to move for the tourists.

Back to van to pack up and getting moving.
Quick and easy to get moving in the mornings, once boys out of bed.  Did a bit of rearranging in the cupboards to stop the crockery from rattling so much before weigh ancor and set off!

Weather looks a mix of rain and sunshine for the day.  The road at places is real narrow and only had inch to spare between other oncoming large vehicles. Got through without any problems.  Phew!  This bus is 2.5m wide by 7.1m long and 3.4m high. The width worries me most.

While driving, my eyes dart between fantastic snowy mountain views and quickly back to the massive pot holes that make the van bounce all over the place and cupboards attempt to deploy contents to the floor.  Weather improves as the day goes by and a couple of sight seeing stops, to play in the snow and take photos, before we arrive at Glen Coe early afternoon.

The campsite is at the end of the Loch and we get to site early and have pick of the best pitches over looking the Loch.

Swans swimming with Guls in the sun, looks like an old fashioned Chocolate box picture.  Glad the sun is out and we can get the deck chairs out and enjoy the sun.

Ben and Tess walk to the village shop, while Joey tries to figure out the internet connection on the campsite.  Woody is watching the world go by as walkers and camper vans start to arrive.

The two explorers (Ben and Tess) finally make it back from the village, armed with Pizza (for the boys) and some rather interesting craft beers.  I sample the Innis & Gunn, Blood Red Sky (rum barrel aged red beer at 6.8%), rather nice.  Ben tucks in to local fish and chips (£12 a portion).

Sun going down now and the north wind starts to bite and the temperature drops.  Soon be time to put away the table and chairs and head inside the van.
